Patrick, the principal at Backwell Dental Care, is a highly trained cosmetic and general dentist with many years’ experience. His extensive knowledge and advanced training allow him to practice the most delicate and effective cosmetic procedures available today. Patrick’s main interests lie in making real and lasting improvements to his patients’ smiles. He is trained in Straumann and Osteo ti implant systems and has been awarded a Diploma in Implant Dentistry by the University of Bristol. He provides Invisalign Orthodontics, Facial Aesthetics, Porcelain Veneers and the latest Tooth Whitening systems. Patrick trained at Guy’s and won the Newland Pedley prize for excellence in operative dentistry, general dentistry and prosthetics. Any spare time is spent with his family, running, kitesurfing, mountain biking and playing tennis.

Paul has worked at Backwell Dental Care since 1998. Before becoming a dentist Paul was a dental technician making precision crowns and bridges. He received the LS Farrar scholarship for 2 years whilst at dental school.
Paul was the postgraduate IT tutor for the South West at the Bristol Dental Hospital for many years but now channels his IT efforts working with universities and other institutions helping maintain the quality of undergraduate and postgraduate examinations in medicine, dentistry and pharmacology worldwide. He has also worked with the Eastman Dental Institute and the Royal College of Surgeons of England developing postgraduate educational material for dentists. Paul specialises in cosmetic dentistry and all-round family care. Paul likes to spend his spare time in front of his computer and being with his family.

Chris focuses on providing high quality dental care tailored to the individual needs of each patient. He will take the time to fully explain all the options to ensure the best outcome for you. Patients comment that he makes them feel at ease and he has a great rapport with children.
His particular interest is in cosmetic dentistry; he is highly skilled in the latest techniques for seamlessly blended tooth coloured fillings, aesthetic build-up work, crowns, veneers, bridgework and Straumann dental implants.
Chris has completed additional training in short term adult orthodontic braces. He offers several different types including ‘Six Month Smiles’, ‘Invisalign’ and ‘Secret Smiles’. All can produce incredible results in a short period of time and Chris would be happy to discuss which may work best for you. Tooth whitening can be added to perfect your smile.
Chris joined the team at Backwell Dental care in 2012 having previously worked in two busy dental practices in Bristol. He completed his Batchelor of Dental Surgery at Bristol University winning the Claudius Ash Prize in Dental Techniques and the Ivoclar Vivadent Prize for Technical Excellence. He has also achieved membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Eurico finished his Master´s Degree in 2012.
Since then he has been committed to the continuing development of personal and professional skills, focusing in providing the best dental treatments, taking the time to put nervous patients at ease.
Eurico is post graduated in Oral implantology by ISCS-N and a member of ITI, International Team for Implantology. He is also very interested in the area of Endodontics.
Passionate about languages Eurico spends his spare time trying to learn new ones and doing crossfit. Currently fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English.

Hannah qualified from Cardiff School of Dentistry having gained a distinction in clinical examination. She is passionate about her work and prides herself on her capability to reassure and alleviate patient’s fears. Hannah has an enthusiastic approach to educating patients about oral health. In her spare time Hannah enjoys keeping fit at the gym.

Helen is local to the area and joined Backwell Dental Care in July 2006 after graduating from Newcastle University School of Dental Hygiene. Whilst studying Helen was awarded the General Dental Councils Prize for Professionalism as well as an in house merit from the Dean of the Dental school for her clinical work. Helen gets great rewards from working with her patients to improve their knowledge and understanding of periodontal disease.
When not at work Helen enjoys spending quality time with her young family, looking after her horse and playing hockey for Nailsea ladies.

Winni qualified as a Dental Therapist and Hygienist at Cardiff School of Dentistry. She is trained to manage and treat periodontal disease with a strong ethos for preventative dentistry.
A friendly clinician with a motivation to build a rapport with patients to provide a comfortable experience.
Outside of Backwell, Winni’s completing the WDTFT scheme to gain the experience essential to continually deliver the highest level of care for patients.
In her free time she enjoys art and exploring new places.

Catherine believes it is her purpose in life to educate people on their oral health. Extremely approachable, understanding, compassionate individual who has a positive attitude to patient motivation. Catherine thrives off learning new things and in this constantly changing profession, is in her element, always looking to attend training programmes and actively seek out lunch and learn sessions with numerous companies.
Catherine is a member of the BSDHT and attends oral health conference meetings annually. She has a special interest in how poor dental health can contribute and even affect other diseases within the body and is keen to find and take part in any future research or studies that would welcome her on board involving this.
Outside of work, Catherine loves being active – hiking in the Welsh mountains, running locally, and occasionally, skiing in the Alps. Pilates/yoga and spin class also offer her down time. Catherine and her partner regularly experiment with a variety of flavours in the kitchen and thrive off new creations that they can share with family and friends through hosting – the more the better! During lockdown they discovered a love for gardening and now host a fishpond that extends the aquatic feature sitting in the lounge, to the outdoors! Finally, coming home to their 2 furry felines who offer endless laughs!

steven harper, osteopath
Steven qualified from The British School of Osteopathy in London in 2003. He has spent the last 5 years in Suffolk working in one of the top osteopathic practices in the country. It was here he developed his superior osteopathic skills and highly advanced pain management techniques. He has gained a vast wealth of experience in treating all aspects of musculoskeletal injuries and dysfunctions in patients ranging from professional sports people to office workers.
As a local boy, Steven attended Backwell School and now wants to bring his highly developed and advanced osteopathic skills to the community in which he grew up. Steven enjoys spending time with his family and friends as well as enjoying archery and playing golf in his spare time (although some rounds of golf are more enjoyable than others!!).
