Fissure Sealants

Fissure Sealants are a vital weapon in our fight against tooth decay. The majority of decay begins in the deep fissures on the biting surface of children’s’ permanent molar teeth.

In the sealing process the tooth is thoroughly cleaned and a composite resin is flowed in to the fissure and set. This makes the tooth impervious to decay in the fissures and therefore increases the chance of that tooth never needing a filling.
